2003 BMW E39 M5
ABOUT
I have owned this car for almost 7 years. The previous owner had the car for around 8 years. And the owner before him would check in to make sure he was taking good care of the car. In other words this M5 has been well loved by all the owners.
A lot of the major items you might do to an E39 M5 have already been repaired or replaced. So a large part of this car is low mileage. Some people say maintenance matters more than mileage.
Here is a brief list of some of the work done to this car:
In February 2022 a new BMW battery was installed.
@ 176,433 miles the Mid Brakes lines were replaced.
@ 161,516 miles the Prop Shaft CV joint was replaced.
@ 159,347 miles the Timing Chain and Timing Chain Guides were replaced, the VANOS was rebuild, 2 Power Steering lines were replaced, Thermostat, Radiator, and the Upper Radiator hose were all replaced.
@ 149,739 the complete Clutch Assembly and Clutch Pressure plate were replaced.
@ 129,871 miles the Diff and Diff mount were replaced.
Please see the the Service history page for a more detailed listing.
The previous owner made a deal with United BMW (where I purchased the car) to have them put me in touch with him after the sale. He then put me in touch with his mechanic who gave me his hand written log of all the repairs he had done over the 8 years of ownership. They both wanted me to know everything that had not been serviced and needed attention. They really wanted to make sure the new owner (me), would have the information needed to take good care of the car.
Since then I have always maintained the car like I was going to keep it forever. It's an awesome car and I hope the next owner enjoys it as much as we all have.
